Hey Charger volleyball fans!
As if Fairfield coming to town wasn't enough, plan to make it to West Noble on Thursday, Sept. 24, as the volleyball team is not only taking on the rival Falcons, but hosting its annual fundraiser.
The night will be in memory of Jana Beers Miller, who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. Miller was a West Noble graduate and member of the 1985 sectional champion volleyball team. Miller was a supporter of West Noble and the community. The team will be remembering Miller’s contributions to the community by raising funds to be donated to the Community Foundation of Noble County in her memory.
The evening fundraiser will include a silent auction, bake sale, and 50/50 raffle.
Come for the fundraiser, stay for the volleyball!

Part of the shuffle West Noble's campuses experienced to begin the school year was the Applied Skills crew at the high school moving rooms. With that, instructor Haley Duncan called upon the community to help make their new room a little brighter.
Check out the ceiling tiles that now adorn the roof in their new room! Thank you to all of the groups that created tiles, and for the ones that are still in production! The Applied Skills room looks awesome!

At the West Noble School Board meeting this week, the Spotlight On Success centered on the West Noble English Learners (EL) program. In recognition of 40 years of service to the West Noble School Corporation, retired educator and coach, Dale Marano, was honored at this week's WNSC School Board meeting. Marano spoke of his time at West Noble and the appreciation he has for all of the people who were part of his journey.
“We’ve been blessed all along on this journey,” began Marano. “I was blessed when (former WNHS principal) Roger (Schermerhorn) took a chance on me over 40 years ago, and I’ll never forget that. I was blessed with wonderful kids to teach throughout all those years, thousands, and too many to mention. I was blessed by (WNHS athletic director) Tom (Schermerhorn), he allowed me to coach girls basketball for 14 years.
"I guess when I sit back and reflect on everything, I have a sense of calm. I feel really, really blessed by everything, the accumulation of everything. It’s been a really wonderful journey for me, and I appreciate everyone, I appreciate the school board. It’s been a good journey for me.”

One of West Noble's great traditions is the annual Charger Fishing Club! Led by Tim Schermerhorn, CFC not only teaches a man to fish (quite literally), but also gets kids outside, learning patience, practical skills and the ability to celebrate other's accomplishments. That's no fish story!
If your middle schooler is interested, we have fliers in the middle school, they can find Mr. Schermerhorn during school hours, or come to one of the first outings on the calendar.
Who knows, maybe you'll hook the big one!

We are excited to see you back at West Noble, and a big WELCOME to any new families who are with us for the first time this year!
