It was a tremendous precursor to the state series for West Noble boys and girls track and field programs.
West Noble would finish third in both the girls standings and boys standings, but had several event champions as well as a pair of school records broken during the meet.
The boys 4x100 relay would win the event, the team of Dustin Richardson, Xavier Yates, Jaylun Shaffer and Fernando Macias speeding to a 43.68, establishing a new West Noble program record.
On the girls side, Stefany Dominguez set the bar in West Noble's girls 100 leaderboard, running a blazing 12.63, but finished third in the event behind Fairfield and Lakeland.
Shaffer also doubled up championships in the 100 and 200 dashes, going 11.21 and 22.69, respectively, while Richardson was second in the 100 (11.29) and won the high jump (6-2). The West Noble 4x800 relay (8:23.20) and the 4x400 relay (3:28.67) were both third, and Lucas Conway added a third (42.38) in the 300 hurdles.
On the girls side, Kayle Jordan had a big night in throws, winning the shot put (36-6.5) and taking runner-up honors in discus (113-1). Laine Martin also had a pair of top-threes, going second in the mile (5:27.11) and third in the 800 (2:29.13). Lucy Martin was third in high jump (5-1), Gimena Aguilar was third in the 200 dash (26.63), and the 4x100 relay was second at 51.64.
Angola edged out Westview, 125-124, to win the boys title while West Noble was third at 91 points. Fairfield's girls escaped a tight race at the top, scoring 96 points, to clip Lakeland's 92.5 and West Noble's 90.5.
