A pair of West Noble students are headed south for the summer, but the trips won't be for vacations.
Daniel Hager and Xavier Viera both have qualified for national competitions based off their personal abilities. Viera is already in Orlando this week to take part in the Business Professionals of America National Conference, while Hager will head to Atlanta in June as part of the SkillsUSA Nationals.
Viera qualified for the BPA Nationals by placing in the top five at the regional BPA competitions in both Payroll Accounting and Banking and Finance. He is competing via testing and we will update his trip once he returns this week.
“Xavier chose the Business Management pathway,” began West Noble's BPA representative, Teri Kruger. “When he got into accounting, he loved it! He stated one day, "I could do this all day!". That's when I talked to him about college and accounting and also Manchester University as it is well known to be an accounting school. He loves that math side. He loves there are checks and balances within accounting to make sure you are on track. He has even been accepted into Manchester University and plans to major in accounting. He has selected the five-year path to complete a Bachelor's and Master's to become a CPA.”
Hager qualified in Robotics and Automation via the SkillsUSA state competition in April and will take his demonstration to the national stage in downtown Atlanta in mid June. We will also be updating Hager's visit to the ATL once he returns from the competition.
